Klezmer Band: Ref WM0202

Exuberance, defiance, celebration and ribald wit all come together on the emotional rollercoaster ride!

Image

Combining foot-tapping klezmer, exotic Arab-influenced dance music from the old Ottoman world and haunting, mystical ballads of the ghetto, they cross cultural boundaries with their uninhibited brio in music both timeless and topical. Featuring the amazing vocal range and sinuous violin of their lead singer and the breathtaking, unbridled virtuosity of their clarinettist, this multi-talented sextet presents music that is impossible to resist whatever your background, as audiences from Bogata to rural Wiltshire will confirm. A magical journey into nostalgia, hope and joy.
The various line-up combinations are as follows:
4 musicians: clarinet, violin, accordion, bass
3 musicians: clarinet, accordion, bass
2 musicians: clarinet (or violin) with accordion
If the client also wants a singer, then that can simply be added to those combinations.
NB: the above is the usual 'klezmer'/East European band line-up. However, sometimes a client will specifically ask for a 'Middle Eastern/Sephardic' band and for this, they can also add an oud player who also plays Middle Eastern drums to give it the right flavour.
