Ukelele Vocal Trio Ref: UVT2019 Featured

Here are 3 Gals, 3 Ukes and all the best tunes from the 20s, 30s and 40s sung in perfect three-part harmony! Legend has it that the trio formed in the 1920s and through some kind of miracle, have never aged a day. That’s one version of events but alternatively, they might have just met at university and decided to form a swing inspired ukulele band at the end of 2009.  But that would just seem a little far fetched.

The band includes Kitty, once the heir to one of Poland's wealthiest aristocratic lines and now the sole survivor of this once great family, having managed to smuggle herself out of the country during the infamous uprisings hidden inside a vodka barrel. She was shipped to New Orleans, where she earned her living singing in the seedy jazz bars of Bourbon Street until running into the other band members. It was during this time that she discovered her uncanny talent for poker thanks to the many hours she spent playing cards with her childhood governess.

Velma is the 16th daughter of a family of Irish immigrants. She grew up on the back streets of Brooklyn and quickly learned the value of her sweet voice and pretty face by busking in the subway and (allegedly) picking pockets. Before long she was the star attraction on the New York cabaret circuit. Her name has been linked to several well-known robberies - notably the vanishing of the priceless Sapphire of Zambugo. However, she is quick to stress that these rumours are "nothing but damn dirty lies".

Scarlett is the love child of Marilyn Monroe and Roger Rouge, the famous French contortionist. At the scandalous age of 16, Marilyn was unable to resist Roger's twisted charms and indulged in one night of acrobatic love making. Miss Scarlett was seen as an embarrassment to Marilyn (who had just signed her first major film contract) and was shipped off to a school for performing monkeys and other mammals, where she learned to care for sick dolphins. It was on a visit to the New York City Zoo that founding member Velma spotted Scarlett strumming away on her ukulele while singing a sick dolphin to sleep, and whisked her away to fame and fortune.

Believe that if you will, but you can be assured that these girls will put on a seriously good show.
