These four glamorous retrochics dress in all things vintage and play 78rpm records on 1920s wind-up gramophones.

They have a vast collection of 78s covering all styles of music from the twenties through to the fifties… Big
band swing by Benny Goodman, Glenn Miller and The Andrews Sisters,
classics like Tea for Two and The Lambeth Walk, novelties by Noel Coward
and cheeky music hall acts, 1920s flapper favourites, Hollywood movie
classics from Gene Kelly, Fred Astaire and Marlene Dietrich, jumping
jive by Cab Calloway and Louis Jordan, 1950s rock'n'roll from Elvis and
bombshell hits from Marilyn Monroe, latin exotics by Carmen Miranda and
Perez Prado… tea dancing foxtrots, quicksteps, blackbottoms and cockney
knees ups!
If appropriate, they are also able to teach a simple dance routine – “a stroll” which is an easy 1950’s dance which doesn’t require a partner (it’s rather like line dancing) and is always lots of fun. For weddings & parties they offer the optional idea of having traditional style dance cards which have been hugely successful (and great at getting people to mix). They work with clients on the choice of tracks and the guests are then given a card with 5 or 6 dances listed to which they must find a partner to dance with when the songs are announced.
The gramophones don’t need any electricity (just
lots of wind-up action!) enabling the girls to play in parks and
gardens or just about anywhere they like! For large events they’ve had
unique electrical attachments custom designed so that they can plug
their grams into an amp and turn up the volume!
They
have entertained at all sorts of fashion and art events, weddings,
private parties and night clubs. Some favourite events include the
V&A Mad Hatters event, BBC’s 1930s party at Simpsons, milliner
Stephen Jones’ birthday party at The Dorchester Hotel, Amazon.com’s
Christmas party at Fulham Palace, Time Out Magazine Christmas party,
London's National Theatre, The Arts Council’s Knitted Wedding in
Battersea Park, The Design Museum London, The Wellcome Collection, The
London Transport Museum, The Vibe Bar, The Nottinghill Arts Club, The
Old Vic Theatre, The Pigalle Club, Soho House, Gaz's Rockin Blues Club,
The Curzon Cinema, The Secret Garden Party and Bestival...
