Solo Guitar: Ref SLG0613

Reflecting the rich diversity of the guitar's heritage here is a musician who covers the works of Bach, the 19th century showpieces of Guiliani, the Spanish repertory of Albeniz through to the evocative rhythms of Latin America and the cutting edge of contemporary music.

His playing has been heard at some of Britain's leading music festivals including the Bath International Guitar Festival, Rhythms in the City, Leeds International Concert Seasons 'Spanish Festival', Hebden Bridge Arts Festival and Harrow Arts Festival. In addition he has a wide experience of the broadcast media, having played recitals for Classic FM, Granada TV, Yorkshire TV and LWT. His repertoire includes the works of John Dowland, the lute suites of J.S Bach, Sor and Guiliani, the Spanish repertory of Albeniz, De Falla and Rodrigo, Latin and contemporary numbers.

He now lives in London where he combines a busy teaching practice in Harrow and Westminster with regular recitals at Handel House Museum and the Harrow Arts Festival. He is also active providing music for events both corporate and private where his repertoire spans from classical through to arrangements of jazz and pop at venues including Spencer House, the Royal Scotsman Train, York Minsters Treasurers House and the BT Tower.

Studying at the City of Leeds College of Music and the Royal Northern College of Music, he was twice awarded the College Guitar Prize as well as the overall prize for outstanding performance, and he gave his professional debut at the Wirral International Guitar Festival whilst still a student at the R.N.C.M.
After leaving college he studied with Vladimir Mikulka and Carlos Bonell and received a British Reserve Scholarship to study with Roberto Aussell and the lutenist Nigel North.
