This classically trained pianist and song writing chanteuse is dazzling the music scene with her wry and quirky, jazz-toned pop.
An accomplished singer and musician, she will add a touch of class and sophistication to your event. Her influences include Nina Simone, Ella Fitzgerald, Paul Simon and Billy Joel, all of whose songs can feature in her sets. Available as a singer-pianist with a focus on easy listening, or a jazz trio with double bass and drums for that extra swing. Additional instruments, such as saxophone, trumpet or clarinet, available on request.
She has extensive experience performing across the UK at venues including the National Theatre, LSO St Luke's, National Portrait Gallery and various international festivals. She has also performed at numerous private and corporate events, her clients including Warners, the Rainbow Trust and Vicky's Water Project.
“Lorna and I would just like to say thank you for the absolutely superb performance you gave at our wedding - to be honest it really made the day and we, … well not just us, but everyone there thought you were fantastic … it was a special day and you just added to the experience so thanks very much.” Pete and Lorna Grimshaw “Vibrant, soulful and sassy ... Your voice and ability to communicate so well with the audience also perfectly suited the intimate space at Handel House. Thank you.” Jane Cockcroft, Handel House Museum “Star quality.” Ian Carr, biographer to Miles Davis “With a natural flair for the piano and the English language, this artist's fresh sound sets her apart.” Live Listings magazine “A rich, expressive and soulful voice.” Des de Moor, founder of Pirate Jenny's “Her voice was deep and powerful, yet gentle too ... the effect was, at times, like having a choir of angels in the corner of the old church.” www.gigreviewscotland.net
