Jazz/Swing Singers: Ref JSS0319

Step back in time to the music and style of the 1940’s. Swing was king, and this singer revives the memories of those glorious nights spent dancing to big bands.

Think spats, hats and pinstripes, or elegant black tie and cocktails. And with a repertoire ranging from the classic swing of Count Basie and Duke Ellington, through the jump jive and R'n'B sounds of Louis Jordan and Louis Prima plus a healthy dose of the Rat Pack, Nat "King" Cole and Bobby Darin, his band take the audience on a journey from the 40’s to today.

An award-winning pianist and vocalist,  he is accompanied by a four-piece horn section (two saxophones, trumpet and trombone) and four-piece rhythm section. They make a big, bright sound that immediately gets your toes tapping.

For corporate clients, the band also has an extensive repertoire of rock and roll and contemporary hits from artists such as Billy Joel, Ricky Martin, Neil Diamond, Harry Connick Jr. the Blues Brothers, and Barry Manilow to name a few

“His voice does the trick, and the sharp arrangements - delivered with zest and snap by the small-ish big band - proves he has absorbed the lessons of the era. A truly swinging album."  Australian Financial Review

"The first surprise you hear is the band. It delivers (…) with discipline, accents and sounds way beyond it's size. And then you get the vocals. He's pitched closer to the Bobby Darin and Bobby Scott end of the scale with intonation and phrasing to match Sinatra's...Then - explosion - his piano! I'll stick my neck out. I haven't heard better..."  Chuck Hall, Jazz Action Society (NSW)
