A group run by a brilliant guitarist with an international reputation as a promoter of Gypsy music and culture, leading to acclaimed musical partnerships with many of Europe’s best Gypsy musicians.
He first gained recognition for his work with the celebrated Dutch Gypsy guitarist Fapy Lafertin and the first European tour in 1989 with the quartet Lejazz. This partnership has lasted up to the current day with CD releases, including "Swing Guitars", and the highly acclaimed "Hungaria". His current associations are with the reclusive Gypsy guitarist from Holland Lollo Meier the undisputed master of Gypsy guitar, Angelo Debarre, with European tours through 2008. The lineup is flexible from a two guitar or guitar/violin duo through various combinations of trio up to a wonderfully swinging quartet or quintet a la Django Reinhardt & Stephane Grappelli’s Quintet of the Hot Club of France. Few and far between are the native English speakers who have had such intimate professional contact with the best Gypsy musicians of the past two decades.
