Featuring musicians from Shakepeare's Globe Company, this is the music that would have been heard in the playhouses of the 1600s. Instruments include the Sackbut, Curtal, Shawm, Bombard and Lute, amongst many other authentic sounds. The melodies reflect a period when travelling musicians from Europe flooded into London, enriching the tunes of Court and City. Musicians at this time had to be incredibly versatile to get appointments in the theatre and great houses, and this ensemble will charm you with their own versatility, a cornucopia of musical delights!
