Classical Soprano Ref: CS1910This is one of the UKs most versatile young sopranos, having performed internationally in opera, theatre and London's West End. Having originally studied English at Bristol University, she was then awarded scholarships to study at Trinity College of Music, followed by the Royal Academy of Music and the Vlaamse International Opera Studio. She was the winner of the John Ireland Song Prize and Elisabeth Schumann Lieder Prize and 2nd Prize Winner in the English Singers and Speakers Competition, Elena Gerhardt Lieder Prize and Ludmilla Andrew Russian Song Prize. Operatic roles include Michaela (Carmen) Atalanta (Xerxes)with Vlaamse Opera Studio, Rose Maybud (Ruddygore) at Buxton Festival, Mabel (Pirates of Penzance) Carl Rosa UK and USA Tour, Elena (Il Capello de Paglia di Firenze) Trinity College Opera, First Lady (Magic Flute) and Helena (Midsummer Nights Dream) British Youth Opera, Musetta (La Boheme) Dartington International Festival with Diego Masson, Pamina (magic Flute) with Surrey Opera. Concert/oratorio appearances include Mozart Requiem (Thames Philarmonia – Kingston Choral Society). Charpentier’s Te Deum and In honorum Sancti Xaverij Canticum (Charpentier) at the Baluarte Theatre Pamplona and at the Circulo de Bellas artes in Madrid, as well as In terra pax(Finzi) and Serenade to music (Vaughn Williams) with London Pro Arte orchestra at St Giles Cripplegate. Other performances include a lieder recital with Graham Johnson and an opera gala with the Vlaamse Radio Orchestra as well as an opera gala in Tuscany with the George Solti Bel Canto Accademia. She was a soloist in Mozart’s Requiem and Laudate Dominum at St John’s Smith Square and New College Oxford. She appears regularly as soloist with Richmond Chamber Symphony – works include Britten’s Les Illuminations, Ravel’s Trois Poemes de Stephane Mallarme, a recording of Mahler’s Symphony No4, Martucci’s ‘Le canzone dei Ricordi’ and Laurie in a concert version of Copland’s ‘The Tender Land’. Other oratorio includes St John Passion (Bach), Messiah (Handel) at Ely Cathedral, German Requiem (Brahms), Requiem (Mozart), Missa Brevis (Kodaly), Christmas
Oratorio (Bach), B minor Mass (Bach) with New Cambridge Singers, Magnificat (Caldara), Coronation Anthems (Handel), Serenade to Music (Vaughn Williams). She has given solo recitals in Naples, Italy, Charterhouse, London, Southwark Cathedral, St Martin-in-the-Fields London and for the Hereford Choral Society. She has appeared as ‘Angel’ in Harvey’s ‘Passion and Resurrection’, Canterbury Cathedral and as a soloist at Dartington International Music Festival. Performed Soprano Solo in UK premiere of Jacques Loussier’s mass ‘Lumieres’ (Southwark Cathedral and St Bartholemew’s Church, Brighton). Most recently, she has appeared in the West End productions of A Sound of Music, understudying the role of Baroness Schraeder and also in Trevor Nunn's award winning show A Little Night Music as Mrs Nordstrom.
